an oasis of peace and inspiration, is nestled on 26 acres in the Tucson Mountains foothills. The ashram was founded in 1976 by Gurudeva, Swami Amar Jyoti as an interspiritual center, respecting all prophets and faiths, encouraging each of us to follow our own unique pathway to Enlightenment. In addition to the sanctity of Jyoti Mandir (Temple of Light), the grounds offer trees and shrubs, a pecan orchard, organic garden, walking paths, a meditation trail, and the plants, animals, sunrises, and sunsets of the Sonoran Desert. Guest accomodations include a guest house, a small apartment, and a trailer “hermitage”. We provide nourishing vegetarian food as well as bedding and towels. Eight resident monastic disciples care for the ashram, along with local devotees and volunteers.
Retreat guests are welcome to attend all ashram programs, including aarati and meditation each morning and evening, Satsang every Thursday and Sunday, and a weekly yoga class for women. There is ample time for meditation, personal practices, walking, reading in our excellent library, and opportunites for offering seva (service). Numersous Satsangs (deep spiritual teachings) of our Guru, recorded live, are available for listneing, instruction, and guidance. Light of Consciousness magazine is published here.
